Skills

KLC School Skills

One of our main objectives is to promote a harmonious development process for the student and their capacity for self-determination, a goal we pursue through our Life Skills development program (W.H.O. 1993). This innovative educational approach allows us to ensure that our students achieve numerous developmental milestones in the following areas:

  • Identity – the establishment of necessary attitudes of security, self-esteem, confidence in their abilities, and motivation for curiosity.
  • Autonomy – the ability to navigate and make autonomous choices in different relational and normative contexts, a willingness for constructive interaction with those different from oneself and with the new.
  • Competence – the development of intuition, imagination, and emotional and creative intelligence.

Life Skills: the skills necessary for adaptive and positive behavior that make individuals competent in effectively addressing the demands and challenges of daily life.

Arts

KLC School Arts

Art and the development of creativity represent some of the key elements of our psycho-educational project, playing a fundamental role in the context of human evolution. Numerous studies demonstrate that, from the very early years of life, art contributes to improving expressive abilities, fostering logical, mathematical, and linguistic learning, strengthening self-awareness, and unleashing creative potential.

The approach to art in our school takes place within the Ateliers, places of “doing to understand,” where one learns and observes reality through all the “senses” and explores various expressive and communicative channels.

“Art is a continuous search, assimilation of past experiences, addition of new experiences, in form, content, technique, and means.” Bruno Munari

Sports

Psicomotricità

In our school, the practice of physical activity plays a fundamental role in both personal development and the acquisition of important skills, contributing to the cultivation of self-confidence and self-esteem. Physical education and intellectual education are complementary actions to achieve a person’s balance and well-being. Body education, competitions, and challenges train the mind and body, but above all, they provide the opportunity to acquire cross-cutting strategies useful for facing life’s challenges and adversities.

In our educational community, we guide our students in developing and enhancing all the skills and strategies necessary for sports practice, thanks to the contribution of the WMS sports association founded by highly qualified athletes and physical education teachers.

“For a child, movement is much more than a functional pleasure; it is the instrument and means of expressing their orientation in the environment, their intelligent actions, their social behaviors, and their feelings.”
Emmi Pikler
